A SIGNATURE LANDMARK RETURNS: NUT TREE VILLAGE & FAMILY PARK
Almost every day we receive a number of inquires at our Visitors Center about one of our most beloved landmarks – The Nut Tree. The mere name conjures up a flurry of fond family memories for those who stopped at this childhood oasis along the I-80 corridor. Since its closing 10 years ago, the old sign stood as a testament to the commitment to rebuild this California icon for the 21st century.
Today, it is hard to miss the massive construction site or the hubbub of activity on the north side of the I-80 freeway where the Nut Tree is being rebuilt in its original location. With the first phase of the 80 acre mixed-use development expected to be completed by end of summer, we thought you might want to read about what you can expect to experience at the new Nut Tree when it opens.
We will continue to update this section with the latest news as it happens as the Nut Tree reopens. Be sure to check back often to learn more about the Nut Tree for the next generation!
